My Furry Friend

I wanted to share this great creation by my friend Chris Rogers. His company is called F20! He makes these fantastic riding masks (neck gaiters) that are perfect for riding on a cold or warm day! Some are made with mesh and some (like the one I’m rocking in the picture above) are fleece lined for warmth and comfort. I’ve been riding this great version properly titled “Bandanimal.”

Check out his website at www.f2outerwear.com. He’s got lots of other patterns, colors and shapes- I’m sure you’ll find the perfect one for you. Not to mentions he has some fun stickers.

FAN- tastic Facebook

I have created a “Fan” page on Facebook for Robot Dinosaur! I am amazed honestly that I haven’t thought to do this already. If you want to see the Fan site go here to check it out or become a fan yourself. I’ll be posting updated for new product I’ve added to Etsy and more. I’m currently working on a pair of kissing Dinosaurs to be posted as a nice Valentine’s gift idea.  Here’s a shot of what the site looks like:

One Artsy Mama!

Hello All,

Robot Dinosaur was featured on a blog recently http://www.one-artsy-mama.blogspot.com/. It’s no wonder that just a few day’s later after Basil was featured on this blog that he was sold to a good home in the UK. I have to admit I’m a bit jealous of him. I wish I could put myself in a box and send myself there for a vacation.

One Artsy Mama posts super cute products that I love- For example the love birds shown here.
I now have a great place to learn about new art, jewelry, and fashion! It’s always nice to follow someone with similar taste. I definitely recommend checking her blog out!

She also has an Esty site where she sells super cute bow hair clips, candles, scarfs and soaps. You can visit her shop here: http://www.one-artsy-mama.blogspot.com/. Thanks again to Eleise at “One Artsy Mama” for her support!

Enjoy her sites!

Hello All! It has been a very long, long time since I’ve posted anything. A lot has happened this past year including buying a home, starting an Etsy site, being in an Art Show, and much more. Good news is that my Robot Dinosaur items are soaring; I’ve gotten faster and better at the items I’m creating. Bad news- I don’t remember the last time I wrote or drew something. Hopefully that will change now that I’m back to paying attention to my blog. So enjoy some photos of things I’ve been doing since I last blogged and thanks for checking in. P.S. check out my esty site at www.etsy.robotdinosaur1.com.

Aging

Oh old tree, so tall and lean,
How did you get your leaves so green?

The blue of the sky,
And the yellow of the sun,
Mixed together,
That’s how it was done.

Oh tall tree with branches that spread,
How did you get leaves orange and red?

The autumn pumpkins,
And the red apples’ glare,
Reflect on me,
And give me my flare.

Oh lean tree, so tall in the air,
How did your branches end up so bare?

The cold, cold days,
And the freezing nights,
Shivered off my leaves,
And gave them a fright.

Oh old, tall, lean tree,
You’re cycles are quite strange!

As we grow older,
Even you will change.

…my drawing skills have been lacking as of late. And so- in an effort to get better at drawing the human body I’ve been taking “dropin’ in” drawing sessions at the Firehouse Gallery on Church Street in Burlington. We had our last session last Monday. New sessions start June 15th and each session is $8.00. Each week we draw a different nude model- sometimes female (my preference for drawing,) sometimes male. I have yet to determine what my favorite drawing tool is and can’t ever seem to stick to one. For a while I was focusing on using unique colors and tools that were soft like pastels- then colorful chalk and or willow sticks. This week I sketched with pencil and then shaded with watercolor pencil. I figured I needed to start putting these watercolor pencils to good use. So below you’ll see what I created- and I’m honestly not that excited about it. However I like that he’s purple- enjoy.

It has been a while since I’ve posted to the site- and my hope was to create a log of my travels back to Portland and up to Seattle, however it seems with the lack of a working camera- a photo-less blog entry is pretty much a snoozer. So instead, I’m going to do a short recap of the highlights of my trip and end with a quick drawing I did today during my work hours.

Portland- I spent an entire afternoon in Powell’s Bookstore and had to limit myself to buying just five new books. This was extremely difficult but I’m very excited with my book choices. My favorite part of my time spent at Powell’s was looking through the locked bookshelf of “Out of Print” and “Special Edition” fantasy books. I was pleased to find a copy of “The Never Ending Story” that was identical to a version I picked up in the used book section of my local Barns and Noble for $6.00. I was pleased to find that my copy was a first edition, in mint condition- and according to the version I found in Powell’s lock box- is worth $90.00. What a great surprise.0502091955

Another experience we had in Oregon was visiting a beach on the coast that was the film site for the 80’s classic “The Goonies.” If you don’t know what that is please stop reading my blog. It was spectacular and fortunately was captured by camera phone magic.

Seattle- we were able to last minute by tickets to see “The Shins” play which was an incredible concert and the venue was ideal. We also had an interesting photo booth session with a strange girl named Angela who forced her way into our booth and insisted that we show our “tits.” And when upon refusal provided one for us. The evidence is attached to our refrigerator.

All though these are just snippets of our week in the Pacific Northwest I think you can tell it was extremely eventful and of course memorable. I leave you with a whistling unicorn- indicative of how this trip made me feel.
